Question: Can a U.S. trademark owner file an international application directly at the International Bureau?

Answer:
No. The international application must be filed through the USPTO. The USPTO must certify that certain information in an international application based on a U.S. basic application.


Question: What is a specimen?

Answer:
A specimen is a real-world example of how the mark or logo is actually used on the goods or in the offer of services. Labels, tags, or containers for the goods are considered to be acceptable specimens of use for a trademark.

Question: How do I obtain a license to use copyrighted music?

Answer:
First, gather as much information as you can about the music. Second, contact the appropriate performing rights organization to get the name, address and phone number of the publisher who controls the copyright. Thirdly, contact the publisher.
